If March was the month of the Humpbacks, then April was the month of variety. In all I encountered 10(!) species of cetacean: Bottlenose Dolphins, Common Dolphins, Risso Dolphins, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, False Killer Whales, Blue Whales, Minke Whale, Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, and countless Fin Whales! I also saw my first Guadeloupe Fur Seal, encountered a Tropic Bird for the 3rd time, and filmed False Killer Whales for the first time! (Second time encountering the species) The highlight of the month was a sub-adult Humpback Whale breaching its heart out in the shallow waters of La Jolla Shores.
