On this episode, I spoke with Gary Stewart, CEO of The Nest aka “Masterclass for startup founders”.

We covered some serious hot topics, including:
- What it was like growing up in an immigrant family in the Bronx
- Thriving at an elite University and Law School
- What Stacey Abrams and Cory Booker were like in college
- What Black people really think about Candace Owens
- Corporate bureaucracy in Europe
- Startup cultures in US and Europe
- Diversity in tech
- LGBT rights in Russia
- And what inspirited Gary to start The Nest

Before founding The Nest, Gary spent over 8 years heading up Telefonica’s Wayra accelerator across Spain and then in the UK. At Wayra, he invested in 185 start-ups that raised $265m and were valued at more than $1 billion. Gary was also an associate professor at entrepreneurship at IE Business School in Madrid. He started his career as a lawyer working in NY and Europe. He then launched his first start-up in 2005, which he eventually sold to a publicly listed company. He graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale College and was the executive editor of The Yale Law Journal at Yale Law School. He is a Governor of the University of East London and has been twice on the Power List of the most influential black people in the UK.
