Our list inludes some honorable mentions of three compact SUVs that are very good but not good enough to make out list.

The 2024 Honda VR-V Hybrid has a 2L 4-cylinder matched to an ECVT, a combined 204 horsepower, standard AWD in Canada, FWD and AWD options are available in the US.
