Over the summer we teamed up with Breckland YAB’s young commissioners to share in a creative way tips for young people who face bullying. In 2018/19 over 10,000 young people aged 11-19 from Norfolk told YAB that face to face bullying was increasing and that more anti-bullying work needed to be done. The Breckland YAB facilitates youth participation - which can bring about more targeted and effective policies and services in the future, insuring the issues that are important to young people are brought to light through a democratic process. Together they formed the Norfolk Youth Against Bullying to work in partnership with all YABs to address this problem and spread the word through TV and radio appearances, the NYAB conference and continued campaigning. They even won the Stand Up Foundation’s ‘Outstanding Organisation of the Year’ for their Anti-bullying work. We have been humbled to be a part of this campaign and put this information into a meaningful film to bring it all to life. The Breckland YAB will be campaigning this video at schools across Norfolk, to educate and draw light to this issue and for the young people to develop and lead their own communities.
