Should I visit Haleakala national park during sunrise or sunset? Which one is better? These are questions we researched before going and because we couldn't get reservations through the national park website, we visited during sunset. The view was amazing - where else can you be above the clouds to watch either the sunrise or the sunset. If you try and go for the sunrise, make sure to make advanced reservations beforehand.
