Blaser R93 UIT / CISM / LRS / Tactical first generation introduction and brief history of the rifles. Not much info out there on these wonderful high end sniper rifles, and few know about their beginnings in international competition circles. In 1997, SIG Sauer acquired Blaser and decided to move the line into the Police and Military rifles markets. These sold well and were used by many police departments all over the world.

In 2001, Blaser (Under Sig's new direction) introduced the LRS2, thus ending the first generation's production. The first generation showed their roots in the competition world, and were not as well suited as the militarized LRS2 and later Tactical 2 designs.
