VN24 - Olsberg-Antfeld / Germany - At about 12:45 pm an semi-trailer truck got out of control on a downhill road in the village of Antfeld. The 53-year-old driver, according to the traces of the accident, drove on the federal road B480/B7 almost in the middle of the road for reasons as yet unknown. Shortly before the Franz-Hoffmeister-Straße junction, he was confronted by a truck in oncoming traffic whose 36-year-old driver was still trying to swerve onto the edge of the road. Nevertheless, the two trucks collided and the semi-trailer truck skidded down a slope to the left, where the driver's cab bored itself into the rear wall of a double garage, which partially collapsed and buried a new BMW under the rubble. The truck was in danger of crashing further, damaging a stationary gas tank several cubic metres in size. The fire brigade organised a wheel loader which secured the semi-trailer truck until it was recovered by a towing contractor. Meanwhile, the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
