It is alarming to see soldiers being killed, particularly in large numbers. The Defence headquarters has confirmed the killing of 14 military officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army by gunmen in Bomadi community of Delta State. The unfortunate incident occurred when the troops responded to a distress call after the communal crisis between the Okuama and Okoloba communities. The reinforcement team, led by the commanding officer of 181 Battalion, was also attacked, leading to his death, death of two majors, one captain and other soldiers. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has directed immediate investigation and arrest of those involved in the killing of the military men.
