0:00 - Introduction
In this video, we will introduce the Malta program for obtaining citizenship through investment.

0:24 - About the Malta Citizenship by Investment Program
The Maltese Citizenship by Investment program started accepting applicants in 2014 and was later amended to simplify the process.

To be eligible to apply for this program you must be over 18 years old, in good health and without a criminal record.

In addition, you are required to make a combined investment in a real estate project, contribute to the government and invest in stocks, bonds or debentures.

0:53 - Investment Options
To apply for the Malta Citizenship by Investment program, you are required to make a combined minimum investment in 3 categories.

The first investment category can be a real estate purchase of at least 350,000 euros or a lease of property worth at least 16,000 euros per year for at least 5 years. Neither property can be let or sublet within those 5 years.

The other category is a contribution of 650,000 euros to the Maltese Government, which is deposited in the National Development and Social Fund.

If adding dependants, an additional 25,000 euros is required for a spouse and any children under 18, and an additional 50,000 euros per dependant above 18 years old.

For the final category, you should invest 150,000 euros in stocks, bonds or debentures with a holding period of at least 5 years.

In addition, there are government fees and professional fees that apply to your application.

2:04 - The process of obtaining Malta Citizenship
The process for acquiring Maltese citizenship through investment is divided into 7 steps over a period of 14 to 16 months.

Please note that the process can vary, depending on your choice of investments in the first category.

Due to the popularity of purchasing property, we will mainly focus on the process of this investment option.

1. We will do an initial background check to make sure you are qualified to apply to the program. If you pass the qualification process, a down payment of our professional fees is required to start working on your application and move to the next step. We will also assist and advise with the collection of the government required documents and complete the government forms.

2. We will present you with Maltese properties that match your requirements. Your residency application will be submitted once the purchase contract is signed, the application fees are paid and proof of health insurance for you and any dependants is provided.

3. After the government reviews and accepts your application, you are required to travel to Malta to provide your biometric data. A residence card is typically obtained within a few weeks. You are required to hold this residency for 12 months before you obtain your citizenship.

4. Once you have obtained your residency, a citizenship application is submitted to the government. At this stage, you are also required to pay the government fees. The Maltese Government will perform a background check which takes approximately 6 months before a final approval is issued.

5. You are required to pay the balance of the contribution category within 25 days of the final approval.

6. Within four months of the approval, it is necessary to show a copy of your property purchase agreement, confirmation of bonds or stocks acquired, and proof that proper medical coverage is in place. Additionally, the property purchase funds are transferred, and taxes are paid.

7. You and your family included in the application must visit Malta to take the Oath of Allegiance and obtain your certificate of naturalization. After the balance of our professional fees is settled, a biometric passport will be issued to you.

4:19 - Benefits of the program
