The Saab Gripen is a 4.5th generation aircraft designed for austere, decentralized, dispersed operations. While the Swedish Air Force gets great value out of the JAS 39, many air forces such as the United States Air Force, the Luftwaffe, or the Royal Air Force operate completely differently. How well suited is the Gripen and dispersal operations in NATO's air forces?
