This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Ahlem Ben Othmen describes how realizing our dreams does not necessarily mean that we need to be perfectionists. She highlights the importance of "being" and not just "doing" and explains it by the fact that we need to be who we are, take the initiative and be creative instead of just doing what we're "supposed" to do and what society asks us to do. She considers that the key to success and to be an inspiring person and leader is to take the initiative and not be scared of either failure of judgement. The freedom to be, to take risks and to make the first step are what shapes the path of success.

Ahlem Ben Othman is an owner of a company, consultant , with an engineering and a seventeen career in IT project management and a twelve years in training and development. She’s an expert in solving engineering problems, a coach and a member od the International Coaching.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
