This week, the team at Out Of Spec Motoring surprised everyone by publishing evidence of a new EV Cannonball Record. This alone wasn't a major surprise given Out of Spec was also the previous record-holder however, the surprising bit is how they used a Porsche Taycan and the Electrify America CCS charging network to complete it. Up until now, the modern EV Cannonball Run record has only been held by Teslas on Tesla's Supercharging Network and I don't think many others we're really out there attempting to take this record away from Tesla drivers. Aside from that, they surprised us by completing the run in the middle of winter! We got a chance to sit down with the team for another one of our Kilowatt Conversations to discuss their experience setting the record, why they made the attempt now, and what they expect to see from EVs in the future.
