During the night of September 12th, 1983, one man carried out what was - at the time - the biggest cash robbery in American history. Millions of dollars were lifted as Víctor Manuel Gerena devised and executed a plan to exploit Wells Fargo’s skimpy security protocols. But there was far more to this robbery than met the eye - it spurred from a much grander, international political motive, with 16 more people involved behind the scenes.


Some of the accused remained on the run for decades, leading the FBI on a wild goose chase. International conflict escalated as a result, and, to this day, the main suspect remains at large.
