Speed Camera Pilot Program
First up: Speeders get ready to “say cheese!”, because we've got a 5-year Speed Camera Pilot Program racing into action! Starting January 2024, drivers in cities like LA, Oakland, San Jose, Glendale, Long Beach, and San Fran will notice speed cameras keeping a watchful eye on school zones, high-injury roads, and those notorious street racing spots. Rubber burners who get exposed will be paying up based on how fast they were going above the limit. It is worth noting that during this 5-year turbocharged trial, no points will go on your record from these violations!

Parking Near A Crosswalk
Sick and tired of those car-shaped obstacles blocking your view near crosswalks and intersections? Good news, because a new law prohibits the stopping or parking of a vehicle within 20 feet of a crosswalk or within 15 feet from a curb extension. While warnings will be given to violators this year, a not-so-happy citation will be issued starting in 2025. This law's all about boosting visibility, making sure we can all see the road safely without intersection-interference and crosswalk-crowding-cars.

Cruising Allowed
Lowriders, rejoice! Cruising is allowed once again in the Golden State! We're waving goodbye to old lowrider restrictions and saying hello once again to your classic rides going "low and slow" without breaking any rules. If you do hit the streets with those lowered, custom cars – just make sure you keep it safe while you enjoy the ride!

Traffic Stops: Notification by Peace Officers
The times they are a changing when it comes to traffic and pedestrian stops! Starting this year, officers can't pull the classic "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Instead, they'll have to cut to the chase and state the purpose of the stop right away. It's all about transparency and putting an end to guessing games. We like it when everyone's on the same page!

Catalytic Converter Theft
Last but not least, a hot topic – Catalytic Converter Theft. California's cracking down on those sneaky thieves. New laws mean more trouble for unlicensed "auto dismantlers" and anyone tampering with Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) tied to catalytic converters. With bigger penalties on the way, hopefully these catalytic-crooks will think twice before behaving badly!
