I learned "False Hearted Lover's Blues" from a 1927 recording of Moran Lee "Dock" Boggs. The melody is borrowed from the earlier ballad, "Hustling Gamblers," also known as "Country Blues." Other notable recordings have been contributed by Doc Watson, Ralph Stanley, Levon Helm, Riley Baugus, and Hank III.

My instrument is an 1888 Thomposon & Odell "The Luscomb" banjo tuned ~ f♯DGAD.
