This is my Simplicity Symmetry upright vacuum, (which I believe to be from the late 2000s) model SYM.USAFS upright vacuum that I bought from a local pawn shop in an admittedly sorry looking state, and after always wanting one of my own version of the Symmetry after my workplace just acquired one of its own (   • Simplicity Symmetry SYMCL.USA (S20e) ...  ), to wonder what it's like to live with one. This is also the same model Symmetry that's owned by YouTube user VacLab (   / @vaclab  , and if any of you have the time, I recommend checking his channel out, where he performs many vacuum tests on various vacuums. The Symmetry is basically a late model version of the Simplicity 6000 series of vacuums sold years ago which were budget friendly models to their 7000 series which were TOL. Unlike the Symmetry that's at my place of work, this has upgraded features like a metal brush roll with replaceable brush strips, as well as a brush roll clutch for allowing it to be used on bare floors. Riccar does make a similar model called the Vibrance which is mostly the same as the Symmetry, but the base is a little bit different in design compared to the Symmetry. This vacuum did arrive pretty dusty when I first bought it, so I had to strip it down and completely clean it inside and out, but thankfully I succeeded in cleaning out the built-up dust, and now it looks better than ever. It features a 12 amp single stage motor with clean air design and takes Riccar/Simplicity type A bags (this example is running genuine HEPA cloth bags that were provided by the previous owner). The suction great on this, but the airflow on this machine is not great, but the agitation is amazing (I would argue that makes up for the low airflow). I really don't have much complaints about this vacuum, but I do think it's a shame that Tacony killed off production of this vacuum back then as well as the Riccar variant, even the 2nd generation versions that came later. This is an excellent machine, and probably the last good upright that was made in the modern era.
