Welcome back to Chasing Trains! This is the fourth part in a series documenting our epic seven-state, 3,800 mile trek across the Central and Southwestern part of the United States. This episode documents days 7 and 8 of the trip on which we traveled from Greeley Colorado, south to Durango via Alamosa, Antonito, south to Chama NM, then up to Durango.

Day seven was a travel day, traversing almost the entire length of Colorado. We caught some freight action south of Alamosa as well as a couple Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad trains returning to Antonito. From there, we headed over Cumbres pass and back into Colorado where we'd be staying for the next couple days around Durango.

On day eight, we chased some trains on the Durango & Silverton, including a special double header with the Southern Pacific "Slim Princess" on the point. That afternoon, we met up with some bay area friends for a tour of the Soundtraxx headquarters in Durango. And finally, we rounded out the day by visiting George's layout at his house nearby.
