Hi this is Mike I’m an adventurer and a Dad and today I want to give you an update on the OES Pro power bank product from Craft Autoworks.

I’m showing you this for two reasons.

1. I had to buy a new battery system because I sold the Aerotow, and the OES mini with it. Craft discontinued the OES Mini and TBH it was too small for my needs anyway, so I got the OES Pro
2. This really is a different product from other things you can get so I wanted to highlight that.
3. I purchased this unit myself and this is not a promo.

THE OES PRO
Here are the relevant details

* Cost, this retails for $1995
* DC focused
* Only a 500w inverter with a single outlet.
* 5 dc 12v
* 2 dc Anderson Powerpole
* 5 USBs of varying output
* Input heavy: other similar batteries are limited
* 120 in
* Alternator in 30 amp charging
* Solar in

New things
Some things are new from the previous video I posted
* Anderson Powerpole
* Better than SAE
* Dual Powerpole outputs
* Can be used for direct wiring Van or overlander fixed loads
* Custom battery
* Good form factor
* Metal case
* Serviceable
* Lower low state of charge reset

Vehicle integration kit
* About $100
* Wire
* Connectors
* Breaker
* Panel mount outlet
* Trailer lead
* I don’t know if it’s cheaper than making your own, but you get the right amount of everything and don’t have to guess.

Initial Impressions
I’ve used this to run a fridge a couple of times so far and am really impressed. The two times I used it were without any charge input because I don’t have that installed yet. Both times, it ran the fridge for 24 hours with no noticeable drop in voltage.
* It fits in the trailer tongue box, and because it’s in a wolf case, I can stack other gear on top of it.
* It fits under the bench seat in a Ford Transit crew van.
* Point the outputs forward or back.

Positives
* Serviceable
* Fuses and breakers
* Vehicle integration is more affordable.
* It doesn’t preclude other high-capacity inputs
* Upgradeable
* Can swap out panel accessories if you want to
* Stackable
* Protected in the case
* Not a lot of wasted 120v outputs

Downsides
* DC12v ports have trouble holding onto the plugs
* No standard outlet
* No standard plug
* Still, I haven’t had a problem with the fridge plug slipping out of other power banks.
* No low amp DC in
* Can’t plug it into a regular 12v DC 15 amp
* Can’t swap it into a vehicle NOT set up for integration
* 500w isn’t enough to run an electric kettle or induction cooktop
* Big
* Because it’s assembled from OTS parts, it’s much bigger than a Goal Zero, Jackery or Ecoflow of the same power.
