1. Power Distribution is Critical
a. Placement
b. Protection
- Types
- Sized properly
c. Grounding

2. Labeling Matters
a. Clear and legible
b. Logical labeling, Make sure it makes sense, or matches the prints
c. Allows for easy identification of wires in the panel

3. Temperature is Important
a. Ambient temp of panel location
- Dictates enclosure types and hardware within the panel
- May need to include a heater if the panel is located in potentially freezing enviorments
b. Temperature generated within the panel
- Dictates ventilation requirements of the panel
- May need fan and exhaust
- May need AC unit if enough heat is generated
- Improper ventilation can lead to premature hardware failure.

4. Layout can make all the difference
a. Good layout can make the difference between a panel that is clean and easy to service or troubleshoot, as well as make hardware function and last longer.
b. Proper spacing for hardware is important to ensure proper ventilation
c. Allowing enough space for wire ducting throughout the panel will allow for very clean and organized wiring.
d. Placing hardware strategically throughout the panel will allow for wiring in the field to go much more smoothing and also giving you a much cleaner finished product

Example: IO on the bottom (or wherever the IO will enter the panel, Power on the top, Communication and PLC in the center.
