Video Notes:
Step 1 - production estimates
Production Estimates - Ford to hit 15-20k in 2022 and they will be very limited! However ford has led on in multiple interviews that they will be making more and these are not confirmed. Step 2 Reservation 75% conversion ratesMake your reservation if you haven’t , the last thing we will talk about is how even if you’re a late reservation holder, there are some tips to cut the line, stick around for that.
- Ford will go by the dates of your reservation as one of the biggest determining factors of your place in line. - first in line will go first
- Here are some important dates to keep in mindDay 1 - 20kMay 26 - 70kJune 10 - 100kThe last 3 months - 150-200k
Choosing a trim

40 k Pro - Hard to get, we recently learned a lot of these may end up going to fleet sales, and will be very hard to get the first year, this car has very minimum tech, it will not offer the extended battery and will also not have the light bar on the front
53-57k XLT - Awesome value, my favorite.. it will also be in limited supply due to it’s price point. There are upgrade options to have leather wrapped steering wheel and larger wheels that also come on the lariat. 67-80k Lariat- Huge price bump, but comes with just about everything you could ever need. This would be a great bet for trying to get a lightning this year.90k Platinum- honestly my least favorite, it seems super expensive for not too much more than what comes on the lariat. Plus the wheels on the lariat look cooler in my opinion. But at the same time, it’s for big ballers.. nothing wrong with it if you have the cash to spare.Pricing to keep in mind - expect a 8k - 12.5k tax rebate, Should hear an answer by Christmas.
Order books will open:Ford will do orders in waves meaning higher numbered orders won’t be able to place orders on open dates. This seems very unfair unless they allow every dealer a certain amount,
- Email directly from Ford to place order. To the early reservation holders
- You can make updates , it’s important to keep an eye on news and you can change your order to get it scheduled faster
- You can build your order online and send it to your dealer, doesn’t need to be in person
- Better to do in person, make sure your iD is tied to the order, so you get your truck scheduled
- Make sure you get a confirmation email
- 3-6 weeks to build from build date.

TIPS FOR FASTER ORDER:

Finding your dealer There’s still time to change your dealer. Call around and ask these things:1. Confirm that they are going to stay at MSRP, ask about dealer fees, that stuff adds up quick.. make sure your 40k car won’t turn into a 50k car
2. Try to feel out if they have a lot of Lightning reservations - make sure they have a few but not too many.
3. Try to pick a dealer that is in a high selling truck market, with lots of competing dealerships near by. This helps their allotment numbers.
4. Confirm that they are EV certified
5. Finally, make sure you like them
