The 2024 Isuzu D-Max has been given a major facelift, with the popular ute getting a fresh new look inside and out. The update is timely as the new-generation Ford Ranger is, uh, newer, while the next-generation Toyota HiLux is expected to arrive in Australia sometime next year.
So, what's changed specifically? Well, the front fascia has been overhauled with a bolder design, the alloy wheel designs have been refreshed and the rear end has been treated to tweaked tail-lights and a reshaped tailgate. Inside, the touchscreen multimedia system has added a couple of physical knobs, while the instrument cluster has grown in size.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gets behind the wheel of the facelifted D-Max at its local media launch to find out if Isuzu has done enough to keep its challenger fresh against increasingly stiffer competition.
