Hundreds of Army missions depend on aircraft for transport, patrol and flight training. It's up to the members of the aircraft repair team to ensure that all Army aircraft remain safe and ready to fly. As an integral member of this team, the Aircraft Powertrain Repairer inspects, services and repairs Army helicopters and airplanes.

The Aircraft Powertrain Repairer is primarily responsible for supervising, inspecting and performing maintenance on aircraft powertrain systems. Some of your duties as an Aircraft Powertrain Repairer may include:

-Remove and replace powertrain quills, transmission adapting parts, rotary wing hub and tanks
-Disassemble friction dampers and hangar assemblies
-Disassemble, repair, reassemble, adjust, balance and align powertrain components, systems and subsystems to include main and tail rotor hub assemblies according to directive
-Perform operator maintenance on ground support equipment, common and special tools
-Maintain facilities for storage of flammable and hazardous materials
-Requisition and maintain shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft pwertrain system and subsystem
-Prepare requests for turn-ins and repair parts for powertrain components
