I forgot to mention it, but the name Cracker Day Rodeo comes from “Florida Crackers”— historic Florida cattle ranchers, crackin’ bull whips. Before tourism development, Florida was mostly cattle pasture.

Did you know that the term for a Florida native is a Florida Cracker? As in: I’m a Florida Cracker - and not only cuz I’m white!
