The Young Farmers Challenge is designed to promote farming, showcasing the involvement of South Australian youth in Agriculture and rural communities. Selected teams, from show regions across the state, undertake a variety of timed challenges to compete for the state title. While
these challenges have a focus on Agriculture and farming, there is no prerequisite to be involved in farming. The Young Farmers Challenge demonstrates some of the skills, equipment and techniques farmers use every day as well as some fun activities. Emphasis is placed on completing
each activity within the best time, but more importantly demonstrating the correct technique and safe work methods. The winning team will be invited to participate in the National Finals at a designated Royal Show.
