Eco-friendly innovation doesn’t always have to involve creating a new technology. Sustainability can be social, too – as Anna Rauhansuu shows us.​

Her business, Myssyfarmi, sources raw wool from waste that would usually be tossed aside, to create handmade knitwear and accessories.​
​
They employ almost 100 retired ladies from the surrounding agricultural countryside, creating a close-knit community who do meaningful work long into their later years. Doing something you love every day? Certainly a sustainable way of working.​
​
And, in this rural setting, the cars they drive give them the freedom to do it. As Anna says, “Empowering people is empowering the world.”​
