A few years ago I bought a "1994 BMW 325i" convertible. It was dark green, not one of my favourite colours but it was cheap and came with the hard top. The body itself was in great shape it was just the paint that was tired and scratched. I was quoted $8,000.00 to repaint it in the same colour. So Youtube rewarded me with a solution in vehicle wraps.
I used Vvivids matte metallic black and brushed gunmetal. I followed the videos posted by CK Wraps and they were great help. The only places I had trouble wrapping were areas I could find no videos for. It took a week and cost about $700.00 with carbon fibre covered trim. I added new tail lights and voila. I also used black "Plastidip" on the wheel hubs. They were in rough shape.
I am very pleased with the results. I have extra for repair and can easily fix my errors which would be much harder with paint. All the tools cost about $40.00. The most expensive item was the cutting tape.
