Peaky Blinders cast had to follow a set of strict rules to bring us the authentic story of a gangster family in between the wars.
And most of those rules were created by a showrunner Steven Knight.
Birmingham accent was one of the most important skills required from the cast, and some actors failed to land the role because of it. Cillian Murphy aka Tommy Shelby got some help from Steven Knight himself, while his co-star Helen McCrory watched endless videos of Ozzy Osbourne to master the brogue.
Peaky Blinders set was filled with smoke as for the characters cigarettes were part of the lifestyle. But none of the Peaky Blinders cast ruined their lungs as they used nicotine-free cigs.
Peaky Blinders haircut became almost as popular as Rachel Green's one, but Cillian Murphy initially hated it.
Peaky Blinders cast is a group of method actors who live in the skin of their characters for the entire filming, and that is emotionally exhausting.
The show is so violent that Helen McCrory aka Polly Gray can't watch it.
To prepare for his role in Peaky Blinders, Murphy worked out, learned to ride a horse and lower his voice, while McCrory consulted David Blaine and got used to walking with a gun in her stocking.
While Peaky Blinders has many famous admirers who'd like to join the cast, Steven Knight did not want huge celebs to appear in the show. However, he changed his opinion, so we might see star cameos in Peaky Blinders season 6.
