RISC-V is a new and exciting open source architecture developed by the RISC-V Foundation. The Foundation has released the Instruction Set Architecture open to the public, and a Privilege Architecture Model that defines how general purpose operating systems can be implemented. To compromise a RISC-V application or kernel in the traditional memory corruption manner, one must understand both the ISA and the calling convention for the architecture. In this workshop Don Bailey who currently chairs the RISC-V Security Response Team, takes you into the brave new world of RISC-V shellcoding and exploit development.
