This day in 2001 at Evans Mills speedway, they held their 'fall harvest weekend', and all of the 'junkyard specials' race classes were ran; 4 cyl. domestic, 4 cyl. foreign, 4 cyl. trucks, Pro 8 cyl., 6 cyl & 8 cyl cars all ran 30 lap features instead of the usual 20 lap features, after the heats were run first. I ran in the 4 cyl. foreign cars & drove the blue & yellow #16, which is a 1985 Volkswagen Golf GTi. I started next to last & came in 2nd at the end; not too shabby! LOL! Evans Mills Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval track.This was a non-points race, as the class champions were already decided at the last race. These race classes are now called 'thunderstocks' at Evans Mills Speedway. If anyone has videos of the races held at this track from 1999 to 2002 please let me know; during my moves from one house to another many of my vhs race tapes were lost; I can copy from vhs to dvd now to preserve these for the future. I even lost the tape were I won my only feature event! Usually this class ran every other Saturday night, with the exception of the 1st 2 races in 2001 which were held on a Sunday in April; the 2nd one of those is my only win.
