I found this one-side demo lacquer disc at an indoor flea market in Connecticut in the early 2000's. The record is an original cutting... not a vinyl pressing... on a "lacquer" coated aluminum disk. The music would have been cut to this disk by a record cutting machine, probably from the original magnetic recording tapes used to produce the songs.

I have no idea who the singer is, and wanted to put this up on Youtube to see if anyone has an idea.

Dick Charles Recording Studio recorded many well known singers and groups, but I suspect the singer here may not be famous. Perhaps they were buying a demo record to try and break into the industry. But I have no way of knowing, and can't recognize the singer, myself.

Many different people have recorded these songs, and I've listened to a few of them on Youtube. Some are close I think, like Ed Ames, and Robert Goule, but not close enough to be them. And I am unsure if this is from the 50's, 60's, or 70's. What does the Hive Mind think?

The record was pretty dirty, and had some mold on it which was pretty bad. I cleaned it as well as I could, but there is still lot of pop and hiss. I recorded it using a Technics SL-B101 turntable, which has no pre-amp. I amplified and digitized the signal with a Behringer U-Phono UFO202 USB amplifier and digitizer, recording it with Audacity. I then removed as much pop as I could without distorting the base recording too much. But obviously I'm no expert... this is the proof!
