Rivian Out On the Market In September 2021? (February 2021)
Rivian, which will produce electric cars, could appear on the market with a value of around 50 billion dollars in September. Believe it or not, the value of Rivian will be about 35 times higher than the value of Tesla in 2010.
Rivian has a large number of investors who are billionaires. Their factory is working hard, and we will soon receive the first samples of their electric cars. They were founded in 2009 in the state of Michigan. The company's founder, RJ Scaringe, was only 26 at the time and was graduating from MIT, a prestigious technical college.
At that time, Tesla was the only company that made electric cars. Mr. Scaring destroyed the first project in 2018 because he did not stand out enough and would not be more attractive than the competition on the market. Rivian plans to “throw a glove in the face” of Tesla in the summer with a 750 hp vehicle that can cover 645 km from charging. Its price is around $67,000, and a truck that will be cheaper is also being planned.
Rivian To Manufacture R1S and R1T In Hungary (February 2021)
The Rivian brand, which Amazon controls, plans to build a new car factory in Europe. It would be a place to assemble electric pickups and vehicles from the SUV segment, among other things. In the beginning, this factory would probably only produce delivery vans for the needs of Amazon.
Still, according to the plans, production could be organized for individual customers who are independent of Amazon. Although no final decision has been made regarding which country to start construction in, it is known that Great Britain, Germany, and Hungary are being considered.
The first factory will start production in the last quarter of this year, and it is located in the US state of Illinois. Three variants of the electric van will be assembled and will offer a maximum range of 240 kilometers on a single charge.
Tesla To Proceed With Its Lawsuit? (March 2021)
Tesla sued Rivian over supposed worker poaching and burglary of proprietary advantages. Rivian denied any shamefulness and promptly requested the claim to be excused. The lawsuit has now been dismissed. Tesla blames multiple workers for uncovering business secrets and indirect infringement of their privacy arrangements.
Tesla claims Rivian has recruited at least 178 employees, 70 of whom went straight from Tesla to Rivian. However, Rivian claims it has thorough arrangements and strategies to ensure it doesn’t get classified data from different organizations while seeking out workers.
Rivian further stated that none of the supposedly stolen proprietary innovations were in their possession. Rivian claims there is no hard proof of licensed innovation burglary. Rivian purports that Tesla is simply attempting to execute the opposition. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly welcomed new contenders to the electric vehicle industry, such as Volkswagen and General Motors.
In a speculative decision Monday, Santa Clara Superior Court Judge William Monahan declined Rivian’s solicitation to toss out misappropriation of proprietary innovations guarantee. Monahan consented to excuse Rivian’s willful obstruction in the agreement guarantee, saying the proprietary innovations decision covered that.
Additionally, the judge did not dismiss Tesla’s cases against seven of its previous representatives, whom the carmaker blames for disclosing proprietary advantages when they went to work for the opponent startup.
Rivian Releases New Info On Battery Life Guarantee (March 2021)
Before the release of the Rivian R1T and the electric SUV R1S, Rivian reported the subtleties of its guarantee on batteries. What’s more, it surpasses the details of the most extended contract for Tesla’s battery.
The battery guarantee for the R1T electric pickup truck and the R1S electric SUV is eight years or 175,000 miles. It covers all parts of the battery pack and, in any event, 70% of the battery limit. Tesla’s most extended guarantee is eight years or 150,000 miles and covers 70% of the first battery limit.
Nonetheless, that guarantee is only available for the Model S and Model X, while different models have guarantees with less mileage. The warranty for the standard scope of the Model 3 covers just 100,000 miles, while the guarantee for any remaining adaptations of the Model 3 and Model I covers 120,000 miles.
Furthermore, Rivian offers a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain guarantee for both of its vehicles. Tesla recently offered an 8-year warranty on the powertrain for the Model S, with limitless mileage, but that doesn’t appear to be the case any longer. The 4-year/50,000-mile restricted guarantee covers most parts, aside from the battery pack, with a 1-year/10,000-mile expansion for utilized vehicles bought straight from the organization.
