2000 Honda Insight IMA 5 Speed that had been parked for five years due to a dead IMA battery drive great after just a little help getting started. This video shows how to start up and drive home a dead vehicle and will be useful to those who want to buy a vehicle they have seen parked somewhere for a long time. In this video we install a new battery, bleed the clutch, check the fluids, turn off the IMA Battery, put new front tires on, jump start the Starter and more.

This video is the first of many parts of a series to bring this 2000 5 speed Honda Insight IMA Hybrid back to life.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out this video. I am at the time of posting this video currently going through the time consuming process of charging and discharging the IMA battery pack in hopes I can bring it back to life enough to at least get the check engine light and IMA lights to go off for state inspection. I honestly don't think it is going to do this for me but you don't know if you don't try. I am new to insights but I think if I can get the IMA battery to hold a balanced charge that the BCM will recognize that I can use the clutch switch to turn off the motor and drive it as a gas only until I decide how much money I want to spend on it. I like working on things so refurbishing the packs with used sticks sounds like a fun project to me.
