Kerdi-Fix is a Silane based humidity cure sealant used to attach Schluter Kerdi Membrane and Board to other fixtures such as tub flanges, baseboards, edge profiles, window flashings and more.
IT IS NOT INTENDED TO SEAL TWO LAYERS OF MEMBRANE!!
This is a very important and often misunderstood concept when using Schluter Kerdi membrane shower systems for waterproofing. Too often I hear the comment, " just put kerdi fix over it" . But what they don't realize is that Schluter never has stated that is what it was meant for. The fleece on the kerdi membrane prevents Kerdi fix from obtaining a water tight bond. Water will seep right through.
