Audi’s take on the VW ID.4 SUV is now available in the UK. But is it any good and should you go for one over rivals such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y?

Based on the same underpinnings as the Enyaq, ID.3/4 and Cupra Formentor, the Q4 e-tron is the new entry-level electric car in Audi’s line-up. It comes with two batteries, in 52kWh and 77kWh capacities, with a range of up to 316 miles (WLTP) on a single charge. It even has a head-u displayed with augmented reality! With prices starting at just over £40,000 it isn’t cheap, but neither are the ID.4 nor Enyaq when you tick a few options - and the same can be said for the Mach-E. So is the Q4 e-tron the new best-in-class electric crossover? Time to find out as put the Q4 e-tron 40 to the test…
