These are the seven things I worked on when I started my career as a freelance writer in 2012. And most of them, I still do to this day.

Confidence can do wonders for how you progress in life. And building confidence in one area can influence another. Once you start to feel good about yourself and what you offer, you'll experience a variety of changes in your life, including how other people perceive you.

For instance, the confidence I feel as a writer also contributes to how I feel in public when interacting with people. I also find myself less likely to settle on things I don't want merely because "it'll work."

Just keep in mind that there is a big difference between confidence and arrogance. Someone who is confident emanates professionalism and authority without making others feel inferior or outright boasting about their abilities.

A confident person doesn't have the mindset of "look at me because I'm special."
