How much did it cost to buy and run an Aston Martin Vantage in 4 years?

How much does it cost to own and run an Aston Martin V8 Vantage over 4 years. Let’s find out.

I bought this car in September 2018. The car rolled off the truck on September 20th almost 4 years to the day of my filming this video. All was not perfect that day the car was supposed to arrive at 6pm but due to an epic traffic jam on I95 the car did not show up until after 1am. Se la Vie, no one’s fault there. But the issues did not end there after a quick inspection I hop in the car to pull it into the garage and was greeted by the warm glow of the check engine light which I talk about.

You’re are hear for the numbers so let’s start with the price of the car. I paid 38,000 for the car. Because the car was in Miami I shipped it in an enclosed trailer from Florida to New England I paid 1,850. I wont talk about insurance but to say the car is about the same to insure as any other car I own. I also won’t talk about gas but suffice to say fuel milage is pretty bad.

Now I just have to Maintain and repair. So let’s get into it.

1.I bought the car with 33,000 Miles and the car has just under 43,000 now.
2.I have done 100% of the maintenance and repairs myself. Since owning it, the car has never seen a mechanic… at least not a professional one.

So remember that check engine light? The car kept indicating that the gas cap was loose. It wasn’t. I cleaned it tightened it and the light kept coming back. I was all set to buy a new gas cap (200 bucks) when I read that Aston use the same cap as a land rover but put there own beautifully machined cover on it. I ordered the Land Rover cap for 35bucks and used the spring and internal valve from that which were missing on my car.

I replaced Brake Pads in year 1 for $450 A lot of money for pads but not as pricey as rotors. Mine mercifully are OK.
The Aston has these lovely swan doors which are held open with struts that last typically 5 years or so they were $65 and 2 hours to replace.
Also worn out were the hood shocks. Those are silver painted gems with the winged logo on them and are $90 bucks for 2.

Keep Watching for the Grand total!!
