Jayprasad Hegde, Head of Data Science and AI Initiatives at NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India), spearheads ground-breaking initiatives, leveraging the capabilities of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionize India’s digital payments landscape. Jayprasad has played a pivotal role in establishing an advanced AI platform tailored to address the unique challenges posed by India’s vast scale and complexity. His passion lies in the intricate domains of AI, ML, and Data Science, with a keen fascination for the underlying engineering that powers these systems. His diverse array of interests includes Fraud Modelling, Computer Vision, Voice Recognition, Graph AI, Natural Language Processing, large-scale architectural frameworks for AI/ML, Data Engineering, and Edge-scale Engineering for AI. With over two decades of experience in engineering and AI leadership, Jayprasad brings a wealth of expertise to the field. He is an alumnus from Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the University of Mumbai, where he earned his degree in Computer Engineering.
