Who's the REAL monster here?

On this episode of Out of Frame, we get into Season II of The Witcher and apply its main theme of “What makes a monster?” to our charged, increasingly extremist political landscape.

In America, and across the globe, political factions are becoming more and more disparate, shifting further to the left and to the right. For curious, persuadable, level-headed moderates – and independents – this does not bode well. People are being pushed to “pick a side” while talking heads and politicians convince half of the population that the other half are irredeemable monsters that should be cast out of society.

As The Witcher puts forth, however, “Monsters are born of deeds done… unforgivable ones.” Meaning, people with certain ideas are not monsters by default. It is only when we’re convinced to take violent action against other “monsters” that we become monsters. It’s a lesson we should take heed, lest we see actual violence break out, foolishly repeating past historical errors.
