Sonic 2 Could Give Us All The Characters We Were Missing

Sonic finally made his film debut in Paramount’s “Sonic the Hedgehog”, but what about the video game’s other beloved characters? When the studio pleased fans by completely redesigning Sonic for the film, we were all hoping to see a few of the blue blur’s other colorful friends--and enemies--join the cast. But other than Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik and his Badniks, the film lacked the hedgehog’s eccentric friends. But Paramount had a reason for skipping the characters, and it has to do with staying loyal to the video games.

Luckily, the film’s brief mid-credits scene offered us a sneak peek at one of Sonic’s most loyal friends--and also a hint about an upcoming sequel. The film even features a clue that suggests Knuckles the echidna will be the star of a future Sonic movie. So, what does this mid-credits scene mean for future Sonic films?
