Three Porters were at the Great Western Steam Up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City Nevada on the Fourth Of July Weekend in 2022.

Two were the classic little Porters, one had a tender behind, but both were classic little saddle tank locos looking like they just stepped off a movie set or out of an amusement park. BUT NO! Both were hard-working little (stinking cute) locomotives that typically worked the mines or logging railroads. One was the Cortez Mining Co. Anne Marie and operational, the other was not. But both were sooooo fun to see.

Then there was the third, a "large" (by Porter standards) 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive affectionately known as "The Chiggen," this locomotive served as a billboard for the Chicken Kitchen restaurant in Stockton, CA for over 30 years before it was restored.

It was built in 1909 for the Santa Cruz Portland Cement Co. at Davenport, CA and numbered 2 In 1924 it was sold to Bechtel Kaiser Rock Co. at Oroville, CA. It is now owned by Efstathios I. Pappas.
