This is the brand new Samsung Galaxy S24+ and phone you would buy if you wanted the very best from Samsung but don’t care for an S-Pen or photos zoomed in 100x. There is a lot to like about this phone.

Samsung finally gave all three phones flat displays this year
6.7” QHD+ display
.1” larger than last year’s 6.6” S23+
Better than the FHD 6.2” on regular
Technically better pixel density than the 6.8” ultra


Much like the Ultra, this comes in 4 colors Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow
But slightly different colors vs the ultra… weirdly

CAMERAS
Same specs as last year and as the S24 regular

12MP selfie, 12MP ultrawide, 50MP primary, 10MP 3x tele

AI Features
Samsung baked AI features into the phone, with 4 main ones that stood out to me
There is an AI button throughout the UI now

i) Circle to search
ii) Chat enhancement (translate, change tone, check spelling/grammar)
ii) Translation in calls, text, voice recordings, etc. For example, Voice recorder transcribes, separates by speaker, and adds to notes - easily translated to other languages
iii) AI summarizer, (also auto format, spell checker, and translation in Notes)


Internals
Battery is larger -4900 vs 4700 mAh but screen is larger too, so I will test
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
12GB RAM & 256/512GB
45W wired charging is slower than ultra but same as last year
Same fast wireless charging 2.0 as the ultra
Wireless power share like ultra


7 years of OS updates and 7 years of security updates

Weirdly has wifi 6E instead of wifi 7 as ultra has

Still bluetooth 5.3, IP68

This will be amazing for anyone who doesn’t care about an S-pen but still wants the best from samsung. Really no major compromises compared to the ultra other than the s-pen and the telephoto lens… which is kind of a big deal
