I didn't know what ISOFIX was before I had my first child, and a lot of our customers don't know what it is either. We made a video to help you to figure out if your car has isofix, using the Mazda CX-5 as an example, we've also added some other cars at the end, including Mini, Mercedes, Dodge, and Kea, because not all isofix points are installed in the same place (although they all do the same thing).

Most European cars from the early 2,000's have ISOFIX, and other cars from the late 2,000's, unfortunately the Australian-made cars caught up a bit later, around 2014. If you think you don't have ISOFIX I would still recommend checking, you never know until you try!

If you have ISOFIX you can install your child's car seat using the isofix points (no need to use the seatbelt) you'll need an ISOFIX compatible car seat. In some cars you might find that you can get a more solid installation using a seatbelt install car seat.

Good luck, if you have any problems or questions about ISOFIX feel free to come and see us in store at Global Baby, 161 Manukau Road, Epsom.

Thanks!
