We took the drone to the home of TV series "Doc Martin", Port Isaac (Cornwall). Flying at the UK limit of 120 metres altitude and zooming in on Doc Martins house and various other places, the old school, harbour etc.

I stitched 3 videos together to make this one. At 4:38 is my worst fear when flying the drone.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, a little bit windy but blue skies, turquoise ocean and lots of sun. Amazing day to make a video with a drone.

Nestled on the rugged Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, England, lies the picturesque village of Port Isaac, or Porthysek in Cornish. With its quaint harbor, narrow winding streets, and whitewashed cottages cascading down the cliffs, Port Isaac exudes a timeless charm that has captivated visitors for centuries.

The history of Port Isaac is intertwined with its maritime heritage. Originally known as a "corn port," the village served as a vital hub for trade in the region's agricultural produce, connecting the fertile inland district with distant markets. Its sheltered harbour provided refuge for fishing vessels, fostering a thriving fishing industry that sustained the local economy for generations.

Today, Port Isaac retains much of its traditional character, despite the passage of time and the influx of tourism. Strolling through its streets, visitors can still see glimpses of the village's rich history, from the remnants of old fisherman's cottages to the weathered sea walls that have withstood the relentless pounding of the waves.

One of Port Isaac's claims to fame is its role as the backdrop for the popular ITV television series, Doc Martin. From 2004 to 2022, viewers around the world were enchanted by the antics of the grumpy yet lovable Dr. Martin Ellingham as he navigated life in the fictional village of Portwenn. The show's portrayal of Port Isaac brought international attention to the village, attracting a new wave of visitors eager to experience its magic firsthand.

But long before Doc Martin graced the screens, Port Isaac had already captured the hearts of many through its authentic charm and natural beauty. Its rugged coastline, dotted with secluded coves and dramatic cliffs, offers breathtaking vistas that inspire artists and photographers alike. From the windswept headlands of Tintagel to the sandy shores of Polzeath, the surrounding landscape beckons adventurers to explore its hidden treasures.

Despite its small size, Port Isaac boasts a vibrant community that takes pride in its heritage and traditions. One such tradition is the age-old art of sea shanty singing, kept alive by the renowned group known as the Fisherman's Friends. Hailing from the village itself, these talented singers have gained international acclaim for their stirring performances, which celebrate the maritime culture of Cornwall and beyond.

But perhaps the true essence of Port Isaac lies in its sense of camaraderie and hospitality. Whether you're enjoying a hearty meal at one of the village's cozy pubs or browsing the local shops for handmade crafts and souvenirs, you'll find a warm welcome wherever you go. The locals, known for their friendliness and laid-back demeanour, are always eager to share their love for Port Isaac with visitors from near and far.

As the sun sets over the horizon, casting a golden glow upon the tranquil waters of the harbour, it's easy to understand why Port Isaac holds such a special place in the hearts of so many. In a world that often seems to move at a dizzying pace, this charming fishing village offers a welcome refuge—a place where time slows down, and the simple pleasures of life take centre stage.

I hope you enjoy the footage.

I'm hoping to do more videos like this in different locations around the UK. Hoping to get better at it.
