The last trip of the Transrapid 09 began on September 13, 2017: The maglev train was loaded onto three low-loaders on the former test track in Lathen and then transported to Nortrup. There the high-speed train was set up on the premises of the Kemper meat factory on a specially constructed 75 meters long concrete route.

The descendants of the Transrapid inventor Hermann Kemper bought the maglev train for € 200,001.
