For 17 years, the city of Liverpool has been part of an exclusive club - holding World Heritage Site status alongside such places as the Great Barrier Reef, the Great Wall of China and the Galapagos Islands.

But now UNESCO has announced that Liverpool has lost it's coveted status because of the swathe of new developments being planned - including the new Everton stadium.
