Adam Pearson, MD, MS is one of the newest members of the Spine Center Team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

The Spine Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock offers the very best care for spine-related conditions. With a multidisciplinary team including orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physical therapists and pain specialists working together, we can offer comprehensive care for all spine patients whether surgery is the best treatment or not.

Dr. Pearson discusses the Spine Patient Outcomes Research Trial (SPORT) study, which compared both surgical and non-operative treatments for three common spine disorders: intervertebral disc herniation, spinal stenosis and degenerative spondylolisthesis. Results from this study show that the vast majority of patients do not require surgery, but when surgery is indicated, it is highly successful.

Dr. Pearson is excited to be back at Dartmouth-Hitchcock where he can participate in advanced research, and use techniques developed by that research in his clinical practice.
