The 2022 Ford Maverick is an all-new compact pickup truck. It has a number of traits that make it uniquely compelling.

Number one, a hybrid powertrain comes standard. It’s a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive, united together to return 191 horsepower (191hp, 155 lb-ft) and a Ford-stated 40 mpg in the city.


Number two, Ford wisely also offers a 2.0L EcoBoost, non-hybrid engine matched to an 8-speed automatic.
