An all time weekend. One truly for the books. BoatSmith 2024 was even better than last year. Higher water, I didn't have a bum knee, and the vibe was incredible. Camped one night at Panther Flat, and one at Rowdy.

Shoutout to the organizers, the volunteers, the shuttle drivers, the friends, the safety, the camp makers, the music players, the love givers and the stoke bringers.

The Smith River, its forks, and the surrounding landscape are one of the most beautiful places we have ever had the privilege to boat, and this weekend it really was a privilege. So many people got to experience, for the first time, one of the most beautiful canyons and ecosystems in the country on the North Fork of the Smith. For what seemed like miles, native pitcher plants (Darlingtonia californica) lined the canyon walls, while waterfalls cascaded into the river every few hundred feet.

Unfortunately for you guys, our GoPros died just after the Grotto. That's the first and only glimpse of the pitcher plants we got on camera. That just means you'll have to go see them for yourselves. ; )

We really hope you enjoyed this summary of a Legendary Weekend. Please comment questions or stuff you liked below, and support us with a like and a subscribe.

Until next time,
Nate & Nila
