In the penultimate lecture of Stanford’s iOS Development course from Spring 2021, we focus on getting EmojiArt working well on the iPhone. This involves learning yet more about toolbars (for example, there’s not a lot of room for toolbars on iPhone in portrait mode, so we show one strategy to adapt to that) and also figuring out how to integrate with functionality from the previous generation of iOS development, UIKit. We add numerous new ways to set the background image in EmojiArt, including by pasting an image, taking a photo with the camera, and choosing a background image from the user’s photo library.
