This is our 2nd complete project of the video series and is the perfect ending to the intro series for this channel. Applying the General Automation Model, we took our water irrigation idea from start to finish. We use 3 different sensors in order to complement our data; soil moisture sensor, rain sensor and light sensor (LDR). The combined data served as a jumping point of our analysis where we decided when to water our garden. As a result of the analysis we actuated using a relay controlled solenoid.

This project can be extrapolated to larger irrigation scenarios where fields of valuable crops must be irrigated in order to save water both for cost reasons but also for the lack of a large supply of water for irrigation. In addition, fertilization may also be combined in what is known as ferti-irrigation, which combines both water and fertilizer that needs to be applied in a controlled manner.

I really hope this has served as an example of how to bring your ideas to life and hope to see you in the next series.
